About the Major
Do you love sound? Have you always wondered how audio equipment actually works? Are you ready to dive into the exciting world of recording technology and applied electronics? If you’ve answered yes to these three questions, the audio engineering technology program may be right for you.
We believe our students should be skilled in analog and digital electronics before entering the field of audio. Through our audio engineering technology program, students learn the ins and outs of audio equipment not only by using tools to create professional music productions, but also by pulling those very tools apart to learn how to maintain, repair, and design them.
About the Minor
This minor is intended to ensure minimum baseline knowledge in audio analog/digital circuits, systems, production, and software applications. Learn more.
About the Digital Media Technology Minor
This minor offers audio technology majors the opportunity to gain technical experience in all levels of video production-portable, live studio, and post-production editing and effects. Additionally, study in this area exposes students to experimental applications and projects involved with sound and moving image in performance, art installation, Web, and theatrical and non-traditional venues. Dual-Degree Option with Electrical Engineering
CETA offers a five-year plan for students interested in completing two undergraduate degrees in audio engineering technology and electrical engineering. Interested students should contact their academic advisor of the program they are accepted into to discuss this option.

Students are prepared to work in music and media production, broadcast audio, product maintenance, manufacturing and repair, automation, and live sound. Our alumni have continued their studies at institutions such as New York University, Boston University, Columbia University, and Stanford University.
